Community Yard Sale

It's that time of year again- time to get your yard sale finds ready!! This fall's yard sale will be on Saturday, October 3rd from 8am - 1 pm. Rain date will be Sunday at the same time. I will be posting this on Craigslist so if anyone has some photos of their extra special stuff that I can include as teasers in the ad please email them to me at pquillin@erols.com. Auto Break Ins

Just to inform all residents, this past week there were two auto break ins. Seems the thief's were after satellite radios and GPS systems. Please remember to lock your vehicles, roll up windows and remove these items from you car in the evenings. If you see anything suspicious please call the Charles County Sheriff's office.

Community Get Together

June 6th turned out to be a great evening- no storms, no oppressive heat and a good time had by all. The moonbouce was filled with kids, the sno-cone and popcorn machines were cranking out the good stuff and magic was all around. It was great to see so many faces from the neighborhood- we look forward to another fun evening next year!

Summer Movie Savings for the kids!!

AMC Theaters is running its "Summer Movie Camp" again this year. Each Wednesday at 10am a childrens movie will run with the low admission price of 1.00- yes, you read that right-$1.00- now that is a summer bargain. The closest theater to us is Lowes St. Charles at Mall Circle.

We had a great evening on June 6th for the Community get together. The popcorn and snow cone machines were busy. Magic Mike wowed fellow neighbors with his awesome display of magic and te moonbouce got lots of action. Thanks to all who joined us. I will post pictures in the next two weeks!

Community Get Together

Don't forget to join us next Saturday at the end of Eutaw Forest Drive from 6-8 pm. There will be a moonbounce for the kids to enjoy. Our very own "Magic Mike" will be doing a table show to entertain both adults and children. Cool off with a sno kone and munch on some popcorn as you meet fellow neighbors. Bring a lawn chair and join us for a fun evening! We look forward to seeing everyone!!

Come join your fellow neighbors for an evening of games, music and magic. Saturday, June 6th from 6-8 p.m. in the cul-de-sac at the end of Eutaw Forest Drive. Light snacks will be provided- feel free to bring lawn chairs to sit a while and enjoy the evening. We are all looking forward to getting out and enjoying the warmer weather- come meet a new face and share a laugh!!!

SAVE THE DATE

Join your fellow neighbors for a community get together Saturday, June 6th. Location will be announced soon(it will be within the neighborhood) as well as the time. We will have games for the kids and goodies to eat. This event will take the place of National Night Out normally held in the sweltering heat of August. This is a chance to get out and meet neighbors from other parts of the neighborhood and have a great time- look for more information on the blog very soon!!

Annual Homeowners' Meeting

Our annual Homeowners' Meeting will be held Tuesday, May 5th, 7 p.m at the Accokeek VFD. We urge all residents to come for updates on things happening in the neighborhood. This is also a chance to voice your concerns about things you want the board to be aware of and be on the look-out for. We look forward to seeing you there!!

Yard Sale Info

Time to do some spring cleaning and get rid of all of those extra treasures you no longer want. Our annual yard sale will be Saturday, May 2nd from 8am - 1pm. We will post this in the front of the neighborhood the week of, as well as several postings on craigslist that week. Our neighborhood usually gets a fair amount of shoppers so start getting your stuff ready now!

Wild Turkey's in the Forest

No, this is not a fake photo. I came home the afternoon of April the 8th and found these wild turkey's in my yard. They were just taking a leisurely stroll. My husband was able to get pretty close to them before they moved away. They hung out with us for a bit then moved to another neighbors yard. I am not sure why they were in such a populated area? If you see them say hi but still keep your distance and keep your animals away from them! Wonder what we will find next in the Forest??

Last snowfall of 2008/2009 season

Well spring is finally on it's way, the flowers and trees are slowly but surely waking from their winter slumber. Pretty soon the sound of lawn mowers will be heard all through the Forest. I was at the Lowes in LaPlata yesterday and they are just starting to get their flats of flowers in. I myself have been thinking that this might be the year I try and plant some flowers from seeds. It can be more cost effective depending on the type of flower you want to grow. I certainley do not have a green thumb but I figure it is worth a shot and may help my gardening budget. As a reminder the community yard sale will be the first Saturday in May so start cleaning out your used "stuff". Happy Spring!

Happy New Year

The holidays go by so fast!!! So many homes had wonderful decorations this year. I tried to get photos but my camera is not the best for night shots. Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera next year. I look forward to 2009 and keeping the blog updated with community information as well as some recipes.
